It's your birthday!

So someone in our family turned 7 this past Saturday. I forget who it was, but I'm sure it will come to me soon.

Oh, that's right! Caitlyn turned 7!

We had her birthday party with her friends at the kids bounce house place again. It's the best thing ever! They definitely had fun as you can tell.

It was so much fun that even some of the big kids got out and played.

Well, till next time, take care. =)

WOW!

Not unlike my sibling, while at the same time I'm worse, it's been eon's since I've updated my blog. Well at least this entry takes care of that problem. Now it's been updated. :-)

A collection of...stuff

I've been gathering a collection just to have laying around the house. It's a pretty good collection so far too. I've got part of a cinder block, a chunk of concrete, a roof shingle, an old glove, and almost a dozen bricks! I mean, it's a great collection, look!
So, now you're wondering where exactly I got all of this loot. I know, you're jealous and you want to get some for yourself. Well, you can't have any as it's mine, all mine! I got it from this special place, see.
You can't see it? Look closer.
Yup, those are some of the bricks, and yes, they are, or rather were, underground. Where underground did I find all this loot then? You may still be trying to take it for yourself, but you can't. Because it's on my land!
Yup, that hole is in the mound in front of my house where two tall trees use to stand. We took them down because one was dead and the other probably would have died after we removed the first. Well, I think now I know why the first one was dead. On the plus side, I now have a Red Maple in place where they used to sit. Hopefully I got enough of the garbage out so it won't hurt that. I'll get some pictures of it up after we finish up around it and make it purtty like. =)

Just another day

Well, I've been taking a few pictures. While they haven't all been good, they seem to be getting a little better. =)

Since I was challenged, here's one of my favorite subjects.

We went and saw some of the family.

Felix,

Cassie,

Rosco,

This strange thing,

And Jen's mom.

Found a new photogenic subject too.

This is our neighbor's new puppy. His name is Koby (or Coby, not sure how to spell it). He's a good pup.

Day 1 with the new camera!

Well, I took over 150 pictures on the first day just trying to get an idea of what the camera does, what looks good, and what looks like crap. Needless to say, I had a lot of crap pictures. But I did get a few good ones!

The first photo evar with the new camera!

Not bad for a novice who doesn't know what he's doing. ;-) But I've got lots of room for improvement.

Here's some more of the progression.
Of course, near the end of my shooting, it was obvious my subjects were getting a little irritated with me.
After some more practice and maybe some pointers from some who know more, I might be able to get something a little more postworthy! Till then.

Apparently some people like me...

On my birthday last week, I receive some presents from my family. All of my family. Not that this isn't normal, but what isn't normal is what these presents consisted of!

Jennifer and Caitlyn got me a Wii!!

Carrie and Jeremy and my parents (unbeknownst to them) got me a FujiFilm S9000 Digital camera and 2 Gig memory card! Of course, this was part of my Christmas present too. ;-)

So yeah, apparently my family likes me. =)

Now all I have to do is figure out how to use the camera. =/

The end of the beginning (or the beginning of the end)

Today I made a step to the side.

In the immortal words of Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday
"And so she walked out of our lives forever"
This is the last I'll ever see of the Yellow WRX. I decided to sell her and she went fast. I guess that's normal since she's most always fast. Why stop when it's time to go out the door?

And in the immortal words of Yakko
"Helloooo Nurse"

Say hello to the new hotness! (Well new to me anyway).

This is a 99 Silverthorn Mettalic Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. About the same amount of torque, but much less in the way of horsepower. However, that will make for a big improvement when it comes to Rallycrossing!

So, it was a bittersweet separation. I was happy to see her go to a good home, but will miss the car terribly so when I go to elude the annoying brats with Honda's that think they have a race prepped machine. Oh well, in due time, I can make up for it again. =)

First event vids

So, here's what we had going on and the view from inside the cockpit. If you get motion sickness, this may not be for you. Just forewarning you! =)

Then the fun little tidbits.

Till next time!

The season begins again

So tomorrow is the first day of the Rallycross season and the field is a mess. We just got about 6 hours of much needed rain here, but it only totalled about an inch of water. Regardless, we now have almost a dozen muddy watersplashes on course! This is going to be a fun, yet slightly slower, race. On a positive note, Kevin decided that he is going to be focusing more on take pictures and shotting video, so I get to use the beefy race tires to help keep me from sliding all over the place. So it may not be too slow after all! I'll find out tomorrow and post the videos when it's all said and done. ;-)

Tests for what the video is going to be used for

Went to a friends house for a test setup and some dry runs with the camcorder in the car. Here are the results.

Of course, after a romp in the dirt, this is a problem. =)

Got a new toy for Christmas and finally got to use it

Or rather I finally used it for something that I don't mind posting. :-)

Got a camcorder for Christmas to use with my races and recorded Caitlyn and Linus doing a duet. I'm sure there will be more soon, but enjoy this for now.
