Happy Thanksgiving!

Less than a month

Ok, so I let it slide a little too long this time. What else is new right?

So, I've got less than 30 days left till I'm told to get loss or for negotiations to have come full circle to get me a nice well paid good easy job. Personally, I'm hoping for the later, but we'll see what happens. So far it is looking pretty good as I was already asked if I would like to stay on. So it's just a matter of them and I coming up with a number that we can both live with.

One plus month down

So, it's been just over a month and the new job is still fantastic. Low stress from the time I get up till the time I go to sleep. The drive to both locations and back is steady, but not busy, the people for the most part are great to be around, and I'm not bored yet.

As long as my current temporary boss is happy with what I do, then I could enjoy this kind of life for a long time. I think I just need to brush up on the non-existant French that I speak since part of our company is there and I work with them on occassion. ;-)

The season has started for 2009

We woke up yesterday morning to a miserable feeling individual. Went to the doctor and discovered that we have a flu infested person. This morning comes, and we wake up to a second miserable feeling individual. No confirmation yet, but it appears that 66% of the humans in this house now have the flu. I get to play house maid for them when they yell for me, otherwise, I get to stay out of the way. Yippee! =)

It had to end sometime

I am once again gainfully employed! It's contract work at present, but it's only for 3-4 months, and unless I monkey something up bad, then I'll be a permanent fixture there.

Berk-Tek is the name of the company, and I'll be the front man for their two offices in the area here.

Back to school

So, Caitlyn started back school last week and today marks her first full week of being back to school. Yesterday was her first day back at the AIG center as well, so that's all the news fit to tell right now. She's very excited about both schools and is happy to be back there. I give it another 4 years till that changes. =)

Long overdue

Ok, so I'm not just slack at this while I'm working, I'm slack at this even when I'm not working. =(


So we went to Florida for our vacation and had a good time at Disney, Ft Lauderdale, and Clearwater. All in all, I had a relaxing time knowing that there was nothing for me to worry about at work since that was no longer an issue. Very refreshing, and I wish I could do it again.


First day there, we ate at Fulton Crab House in Downtown Disney. Excellent food and great atmosphere.





We stayed at the Wide World of Movies resort and had a great room. The only drawback was that our neighbor was a big Woody, and his friend was a huge Buzz (if you know what I mean).





There were a few other character's around who were great company, even though one was a Goofy Goalie. So it made up for our neighbor's!






During our stay, there was a checkers championship going on as well. I was able to catch two of the players in an intense battle for the win.


One of the great things that we saw was in Ft Lauderdale when we saw some baby ducks in the parking lot of Bern's condo.

Again, it was fun, it was relaxing, and I need to do it again. To much work trying to find a job. It will be easier once I am working again.

Off on vacation

So yeah, I've technically been on vacation for almost a month now, but this was planned way before the company decided to let me go. I'll do what I can to post up while I'm gone, and I'll make sure there are pictures this time too. =)

So I just realized

That I have less than two weeks before I go to Florida for my "vacation"! Seems a little pointless to go on vacation when I'm not working, but hey, it's Florida. :-)

I may end up trying to take the train to NYC for a few days in the next couple of weeks as well. I'll play that one by ear, especially since it hinges so much on whether or not I get a call for an interview.

I think I'm beginning to get used to this now. Too bad it will have to end at some point. ;-)

Rough day at the office

We just went through another round of layoffs, not 4 months after our first round that was supposed to be a deep enough cut that we would be fine for a while. Well, it wasn't fine obviously. They ramped us up to let us know it was coming and how swift it was going to be.

Needless to say, I have joined the ranks of the unemployed! Sure I get a paycheck till the end of July, but I don't have to do anything to receive it. I guess this is the vacation that I always wanted, just at the wrong time. =)

Maybe I can actually put more posts on the blog now!

Yes it has been a while

Sorry, I've been just a tad bit busy with my last few classes and have let this slip, yet again.

Well, I've got just over 1,000 miles on the bike, and I'm still loving it. I've got one class left which will be over on June 7th (36 days left!). And I still have a job!

We went to Myrtle Beach for our annual spring break trip and had a blast. We went with our neighbors this time just because and it was a great time. Hung out at Barefoot Landing before the fires, went to Broadway on the Boardwalk, ate at Planet Hollyood, and took in a show at Dixie Stampede. Fun times, and each year it's more fun than the last.

Here recently (don't remember when) I received a gift from a friend who moved up from Charlotte. I used to have a L-Desk, but when we moved I was forced to chop it up to make it fit in an area that I could use. After I butchered it, the decision to change the layout happened which meant that I could have kept my desk in it's original state, but it was too late by that time. Well, I now have a new to me desk, with a few other new pieces for the computer to go along with it!

I now have room to put crap all over the place again! Plus with no hutch, I have finally been allowed to put something of mine up on the wall! On the right is my Darth Vader Photomosaic that I've had for I don't know how long. We just got it framed and hung up now that there is nothing in the way to block it. At the same time, we hung the smaller picture on the left that was given to me as a birthday present last year which has me driving my old WRX out on VIR for my final event in that car. Right in the middle is a new monitor. I had a 19" flat panel that I had on loan from the office for a while and finally bought me my own. That's a 22" wide screen flat panel that I bought on sale from Dell. To either side of the monitor and down below next to the tower is a new 2.1 speaker set up that I replaced my outdated set with.

I've done a fairly decent job keeping it cleaned up, but it's still a work in progress.

Oh, and the beanie baby bears on the far left are Jen's. =)

Saturday

Well, I woke up early today and was left alone for quite some time. So, I started to play on my new Wii Fit just because. It's nice, and I'm learning that I'm not as stable on my feet as I thought I was =). After I finished, I was still left alone and found a pair of bedbugs so I took a picture.




Once everyone started to wake up, I got ready because I had a little trip I had to take at 9AM. Once that trip was completed I came home, had lunch, and started to relax. So what was my trip? I've got a new toy and am absolutely happy!




It's a Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Small bike with good gas mileage and so far a lot of fun.

Hopefully, I won't get tired of it too soon, because I don't want a bigger bike. =)
